New small business workshop today
There is a lot of enthusiasm around the Economic Development office and the community abroad regarding the the new Small Business Workshop hosted by the Linden Economic Develoment. Christophe Trahan the Executive Director of Linden EDC says that he believes this is something really positive for our local business community who are wanting to learn more.
“The LEDC is extremely excited to be able to provide a service like this to the business owners of Linden. Our business owners are passionate and extremely capibile in their fields. Workshops like these are designed to equip them to utilize their unite talents to the full.”
The first topic for this coming workshop is “bookkeeping practices” led by Kathy Wilson.
The EDC has four quarterly workshops planned.
The first event will be on November 20, today, at noon at the County Seat Café in the back reception area. The meeting time is about an hour. However, there is the opportunity to hang out afterward to network and ask questions.
The benefit of going in person is always a good idea because you can ask questions and network, but if you are not able to attend the meeting there is going to be a video of the event that can be requested from the EDC and soon be available on their website.
Editor’s Note: After I reread the article from last week. I realized the tone of the article came across as a little negative and condescending. The angle I was writing the story was meant to inform people about the history of how the idea came about, unfortunately some of the quotes that were given, gave a different impression of verbiage that was meant to convey. Ultimately, there is a lot of excitement about this workshop. A lot of time and effort has been put in to make sure these useful tools will be in the hands of anyone who needs it. The truth is we have a very informed, professional group of entrepreneurs in Linden. That said, we all need tools to grow to become even more successful. I apologize for conveying the wrong tone of the article, and how I wrongly presented some of the quotes. This workshop will be an amazing event for the city of Linden!
