Music City Theater rescheduled

Music has always been central to life in linden. From blues legend, T-Bone Walker, rock legend Don Henley, melodic notes of a wide range of melodious hits can be heard floating through the streets year-round.

One place, in particular, is famous for hosting a variety of acts each month. Music City Texas Theater in Linden has played host to acts such as Marty Stuart, Lee Ann Womack, and more recently the Purple Hulls and Hickory Hill. The venue was once home to the American Legion and was built in 1950.

On March 28 Gene Watson was scheduled to play in Music City. Watson is best known for songs such as Fourteen Carat Mind, Love in the Hot Afternoon, and When a Man Can’t Get a Woman off his Mind.

Following up Watson, on April 25, what was to be the band LOCO.

On May 9th, Moe Bandy would have graced the stage. However, all of that has changed due to COVID-19.

With the global pandemic came strict guidelines on social distancing. In those guidelines places of entertainment such as Music City Texas Theater must remain closed until further notice.

This closure is part of a global effort to eradicate the virus.

To keep fans up to date, the theater has updated both its website and Facebook page. According to both at this time the only show that they have book is jane Watson on October 31.
