Mother’s Day Social on Linden Square

The City of Linden came together for a Mother’s Day-themed Social, held May 13, with various vendors selling things from food, jewelry, tumblers, mugs, pastries, clothes, selfcare products, as well as decor. There was also a raffle hosted by the Linden Main Street booth for a Mother’s Day gift basket, which was awarded to the winner Jamie Monk. The Linden Main Street booth also passed out flowers to all of the attending mothers.

On the Linden Courthouse Square, there was a Mother’s Day Social held to honor the holiday. The Social took place from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on May 13. The Social was planned and organized by the Linden Main Street President - Lisa Creamer. It consisted of a total of 11 different vendors set up on Rush St.

These vendors included: Tashás Wings and Things, who were selling Honey BBQ and Buffalo Wings; Ethan’s Creations, who were selling vinyl stickers; Southern Bloom Bakery, who were selling a variety of cookies; Two Sisters Jewelry, who were selling rings, necklaces, bracelets, pendants, and perfume; Trusty Ladies, who were selling handmade aprons, clothes, pot holders, keychains, scrunchies, scarfs, and bags; Mini’s Table, who were selling pastries such as, lemon pound cakes, brownie bombs, brownie pounds, salt cookies, crispy rice treats, pretzel twisters, and water; and Sunny Brooke Farm Creations, who were selling epoxy resin paperweights, keychains, and wine stoppers.

Other vendors included thirsty rooster, who were selling insulated tumblers, mugs, bracelets, necklaces, T-Shirts, vinyl stickers, epoxy-designed pens, keychains, and badge holders; Klaver’s Kreationz, who were selling wooden bowls, vases, trays, candle holders, necklaces, bracelets, earrings, pendants, soaps, bath salts, and shaving sets; Zyn Cottage, who were selling metaphysically themed items such as crystals, Zyn gardens, incense, intention candles, oils, bath salts, scrubs, painting, bracelets, and necklaces; and the Linden Main Street Booth, who were passing out flowers to attending mothers, and well as hosting a raffle for a Mother’s Day gift basket, which was won by Jamie Monk.

Though the weather was hot, and the Social only lasted four hours, it was noted to be a nice turnout for the community and beneficial for the vendors. Lisa Creamer, President of the Linden Main Street says, “Considering that we only promoted for one week and the weather was not our friend, it was hot and then the rain came, I think that it was successful. I spoke to most of the vendors and they each at least made their vendor fee back.”

Since the theme of the event was Mother’s Day, there were a lot of attending Mothers out shopping and were gifted with flowers. When asked if the event seemed to have a positive emotional impact on the attending mothers, Lisa Creamer replied, “I think it did. There were some moms that got brought out here today that enjoyed themselves, and of course the flowers that they got for coming.”
