Meeting held concerning 47th annual Cullen Baker Fair

The Bloomburg City Hall’s new boardroom was full of the chatter of friendly people last Thursday night as suggestions and ideas were organized into the 47th Cullen Baker Country Fair. As usual, the fair will be held on the first Saturday in November...this time November 4.

Special accommodations must be considered this year. While plans are being made for the fair, the town is still cleaning up following the tornado of June 14. However, the storm as a topic took second place at this meeting. The main news came from the fair itself...which has been resting and getting ready for the 2023 event since last year’s comeback Fair was a great success.

Some of the problems are the same: traffic control, location of popular events like The Car Show, the needs of the 168 vendors who worked the fair last year, electricity for all who need it, the addition of swings for the play area and the street dance.

Some features are staples every year: the fried pies, the food trucks, the 3K race, the Country Store, the pageant, Cake Walk and the Quilt Drawing. The raffles and tickets will return.

Those who attended this first committee meeting for The Cullen Baker Country Fair of 2023 have volunteered to help all they can. More volunteers are needed.

If you would like to join in with this group, let Delores Simmons, Latoya Jones or Becca Jackson know. The next meeting will be July 27.
