Lucky U Rescue holds fundraiser
“Adopt, don’t shop!” was the Sunday morning motto for Lucky U Rescue as volunteers and potential adopters gathered at Tractor Supply Co. in Atlanta on Jun. 29 at 10:00 a.m. The event lasted until 2:00 p.m.
The nonprofit organization, which aims to rescue strays and unwanted or neglected pets and find them loving forever homes, has been a proactive advocate for the lost, abandoned, and abused. Their Summer has been busy, and with Texas still reported as the number two state in the nation in terms of stray population, it is not surprising.
Volunteers of the organization have been vocal about their concerns regarding pet care and pet owner responsibilities, and this isn’t the first time they have hosted an adoption event or fundraiser. The aim is always to help the animals in need, and Lucky U is always looking for new volunteers or donations to help with the costs that come with fostering, caring, and providing medical aid for the rescues that come in.
While the event held at Tractor Supply Co. did not allow for same-day adoptions, interested parties were—and are still—welcome to submit an adoption application for review. Applications can be found on their Linktree, which is provided on their official Facebook page and lists all the necessary contact information to communicate with the organization.
Currently, they need dog and cat food, cat litter, and flea/tick prevention. If more information is needed or interested parties have any questions, they may contact Lucky U Rescue either through their official Facebook page or their email address: LuckyURescue@gmail.com.
