2022 Cass County Candidate Forum

Candidates running in the Primary Election on March 1, and the public are invited to a question and answer time at the Cass County Candidate Forum sponsored by the Huffines Community Club.

The event will take place at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 15, at the Huffines Community Center located at 6487 Hwy 251 South.

JE Manning American Legion Post 258, VFW Post 5870 Meals

Are you constantly on-the-go between work and home? Allow us to take the load off you from cooking every Friday through February 25th! The JE Manning American Legion Post 258 and VFW Post 5870 are joining forces to provide you with dinner! The menu is set and plates are $10 per plate including the main dish, drink (tea or water), bread and possibly an additional side or dessert! We will be serving from 5 p.m.-8 p.m. at 308 N. Louise St. in Atlanta, TX.

Proceeds will benefit the Middle East War Memorial, Girls State & Boys State and other programs for our veterans and the local community. If you would like to get involved with us, feel free to join us at our next Monthly Meeting. We have coffee and fellowship beginning around 6:45 p.m. and our meetings begin at 7 p.m.

UA Hope-Texarkana to hold cookie decorating class

The University of Arkansas Hope-Texarkana will hold a cookie decorating class on February 10 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. This one-day course, taught by Ne’Shay Brown, is hands-on and will instruct students on an efficient and skillful technique for decorating cookies just in time for Valentine’s Day. Students will be able to take their decorated treats home after the class.

The cost for the course is $25 per student. Spots are limited, and reservations for the class are confirmed with payment.

Forklift Certification Training Class to be held at U of A Hope on February 26

A forklift certification training class will be held at the University of Arkansas Hope campus on Saturday, February 26, 2022, from 8:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. in the Technical & Industrial Building, room 160. The class is $80 per person and is limited to a maximum of 15 participants available on a first-come, first-serve basis. The course is instructed by Iry T. Rice, owner of Rice Safety Consultants. The class is compliant with OSHA specifications and provides a three-year certification.
