Local business owner opens coffee shop

In 2019 Tanya Beers had a dream to open a coffee shop similar to the ones she loved to visit in bigger cities, so “in December of 2019, I decided to attend a coffee school in Dallas where I learned proper brewing techniques and barista skills,” says Beers.

Like all dreams, the process can take some time. In this case, “from the idea stage to the opening of our building has taken about two years.” Beers says that they originally had planned to open up in January of 2020 but it was delayed.

According to Beers, the name Caffe’ is the word Coffee in Italian and Crema is the foam on top of an espresso drink. I thought that would be the perfect name since we specialize in making espresso-based drinks. The logo was actually designed by my husband’s nephew who is a graphic designer.”

Beers hopes to have something special for everyone. “If you are looking for a good coffee, we offer single-origin coffee which is considered the highest-grade coffee available or if you are just looking for the perfect blend of flavors, we offer espresso-based drinks such as Lattes and cappuccinos. For the non-coffee drinkers, we have a selection of organic loose-leaf tea sourced fresh each season from tea gardens around the world, hand-shaken lemonade, and hot chocolate.”

Caffe Crema will also carry food says Beers. “Our food items will include some pastries such as fresh baked cinnamon rolls and scones. We also offer grab-n-go items such as turkey wraps, fruit and yogurt parfaits and a healthy snack pack.”

Beers hopes that they are bringing something special to the community, “We purchase all of our coffee from a roaster who receives raw imported coffee beans. They roast them fresh to order so we can ensure our that guest have the freshest coffee. All of our syrups are house-made for all the coffee lovers who like to add a little sweet to their cup. We built a place for our community to gather together.”

Building something special always takes careful consideration, “after carefully searching for a location, we decided on Downtown Atlanta. I love the downtown feel of walking into a specialty coffee shop every time if visited cities outside of the area and thought it would be nice to have that same experience to share with our community,” Beers continued.

Though Caffe Crema is now open, a little over a week ago now they had a soft to introduce their business to the community. “Our soft opening was a wonderful success, says Beers, “There is no better way to gather community feedback, suggestions and discover any service bugs. We want to thank first of all, God and everyone that helped make our business a success.”

Tanya Beers attended school in Atlanta and worked locally. She also operated a home-based cake decorating business parttime, so moving into this next stage in life shouldn’t be a big jump.

Beers would like to “thank everyone who has shown their love and support for Caffe’ Crema.”
