Linden street update
On July 11th, 2023 the Linden City Council unanimously approved issuing $6 million for the street certificate of obligation bond debt. Since then Linden has been working on the process of repairing the streets. City Manager Lee Elliott says Phase 2 is now in motion.
“After many months of generating engineering drawings and accepting and awarding bids, phase two of the street bonds is rapidly in motion! The majority of the current work is transpiring in the residential areas concentrated in the central and portions of our community. Asphalt is currently being put down after extensive drainage and base improvements. Our next phase, phase three, will concentrate on further out residential areas. The collector streets, for example, Texas Street, will be the priorities in this next phase. This phase could be later this year or early next year. With the current USDA water project, it is challenging to keep two projects occurring and keeping high-quality service levels for our utility crews. It has been awesome to see the streets improve and the positive reactions.”
