Linden Main Street ‘kicks off Fall on the Square’
Linden Main Street invited the public to the town square Saturday for four hours 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. The idea was to show off “who you cheer for,” described assistant City Administrator Megan Kirkland.
The gathering was called, “Kick Off Fall on the Square.”
“Wear your favorite football swag and show support for your team!,” the publicity poster said.
One of the first things noticed was children, boys and girls, playing football on the green grass of the courthouse lawn. After that, there were a number of vendors and displays with people walking around and talking at a leisure pace.
Gathering around courthouse square comes naturally to Linden and its Cass County neighbors. One gets a sense of participating in history when meeting friends here.
Then, at the same time, one sees vendors with their display tables who are strangers until now.
It’s a lot of fun getting to know them. It’s all part of town life on the square for Lindenites.
Here are six pictures of such vendors and activities discovered by the photographer.
