Linden Lions learn about COVID

On Thursday, July 2, Linden Lion’s Club met at the County Seat Café for their weekly meeting. The special guest speaker was Melissa Cunningham, who currently works for Focused Care of Linden as the Director of Clinical Operations, but will soon be moving on to becoming the Director of Infection Control for Focused Care.

Cunningham gave those in attendance a plethora of information regarding COVID-19.

Most importantly she advised that anyone who has symptoms that are COVID related to gettested.

She also spoke about the residents of Focused Care and how they are weathering the current pandemic. Currently, their location is locked down to any visitors and while this is difficult for many of the residents, staff are doing everything they can to keep spirits high. Arranging for residents to speak with their family via video calls and daily fun activities are just a few of what they are doing to help.

She also advised that any new, incoming residents or residents returning from hospital visits are required to stay in a special section of the location for a predetermined amount of time to ensure the health and wellbeing of the other residents.

Finally, Cunningham gave one vital piece of advice for those in attendance, always wash your hands as often as possible with soap for thirty seconds.

Lion President Luci Trahan announced that there will be a First Cabinet meeting for 2020- 2021 in Pittsburg on July 18 from 9 A.M. to 12 P.M. Trahan also announced that Linden Lion’s Club current has 37 members with the possibility of adding two more.
