Linden-Kildare students advance to UIL Regionals

Linden–Kildare High School competed at Academic UIL held at Region VIII Service Center on Monday, March 21. The following students won awards and advance to Regional UIL at Grayson College in Denison, Texas, on April 22 and 23: Donovan Johnson – Accounting second place; Jocelyn Serrano – Copy Edit second place; Camdyn McNutt – Copy Edit – third place, Literary Criticism – second place; Tae’Shun Mitchell – Science – first place, Biology Top Score; Alexa Rainge – Science – third place, Editorial Writing – third place, Headline Writing third place; Haley Mason – Spelling – second place; L-K Science Team – first place – Tae’Shun Mitchell, Alexa Rainge, Amarian Thomas, Rayna Bradshaw, Kyler Fitts, and Joe Davis.

Taking home the alternate award with a second place as a team were the following students: Accounting Team – second place – Donovan Johnson, Jayden Parton, Yedith Uribe, and Austin Williams; Current Issues Team – second place – Kyler Fitts, Noah King, Alexa Rainge, Dylan Stanley, Nayeli Fuentes, and Kaitlyn Sellers; Literary Criticism Team – second place - Elizabeth Klaver, Camdyn McNutt, Alexa Rainge, Jocelyn Serrano, Mady Ebarb, and Kaitlyn Sellers.

The following students won awards for fourth to sixth place: Yedith Uribe – Accounting – fourth place; Jasmine McCuen – Ready Writing – fourth place; Mady Ebarb – Ready Writing – sixth place; Austin Williams – Informative Speaking – fourth place; Jocelyn Serrano – Literary Criticism – fifth place; Logan Grandmaison – News Writing – sixth place; Amarian Thomas – Social Studies – fifth place; Accounting Team – second place – Donovan Johnson, Jayden Parton, Yedith Uribe, and Austin Williams; Current issues Team – second place – Kyler Fitts, Noah King, Alexa Rainge, Dylan Stanley, Nayeli Fuentes, and Kaitlyn Sellers; Literary Criticism Team – second place - Elizabeth Klaver, Camdyn McNutt, Alexa Rainge, Jocelyn Serrano, Mady Ebarb, and Kaitlyn Sellers.
