Liger Interests opens Atlanta office for lithium exploration

Only a year ago very few in the region knew much about lithium exploration, or probably even cared. Landowners, however, began to be more curious as companies knocked on their door, seeking mineral rights for the potential of mining lithium. Now, after the passage of SB 1186, giving the Railroad oversight authority for Lithium mining, the community is beginning to see more movement. In last week’s paper, the Journal-Sun featured an article about EnergyX building a lithium plant in the ArkLaTex region. This week, Liger announced that they will open a field office in Atlanta, Texas.

In their press release, the company announced:

Liger Interests (“Liger”), a leading lithium exploration company in the area has announced that it will open a field office in downtown Atlanta, Texas, located at 116 N. East Street. The office will serve as the headquarters for the company’s operations in the region and will help facilitate its commitment to forming personal partnerships with landowners.

The Liger team has deep ties and experience in Cass County and the surrounding area. James Brooks, Mayor of Atlanta and a partner of Liger, stated “The team at Liger understands land stewardship and that a major component of this effort is trust and as your “right-hand man” I look forward to working with families to discover and produce lithium right here.” The field office will be led by James and his team in Atlanta who are actively working to lease lithium interests.

“Liger CEO and Air Force veteran, Rick Rowe, adds that “as we continue to onboard more and more lease partners in the area, it has become evident that a local office is needed for us to have more in-person interactions.” As Liger’s leasing efforts expand into operations in late 2024 it has set a goal to hire as many from the local community as possible creating high-paying jobs in the new burgeoning lithium industry.”

“It is imperative that we work with our neighbors and fellow Texans to explore and extract this resource in an effort to compete globally in the race for minerals and metals like lithium” stated Liger COO and former Naval Officer, Kevin Robnett. The global lithium market is dominated by countries like China and the new resource in the area promises to give the United States and Texas a competitive leg-up. “We believe this is an effort that we must do—we are truly an America First enterprise” added Price Livingston, Liger’s CFO.

Through Liger’s innovative and comprehensive operation plan, it is poised to significantly contribute to the American lithium supply chain and plans to market its finished lithium products solely within the United States.

The company looks to hold a grand opening ribbon cutting in August and will extend an invitation to the community to attend and learn more, not only about Liger but also about the expanding lithium industry in East Texas.
