Lawrence inducted into Texas Country Hall of Fame

Tracy Lawrence was inducted into the Texas Country Hall of Fame on Saturday, August 10. Lawrence performed at the event in Carthage, Texas where the Hall of Fame is located. The singer/ songwriter/record producer was born in Atlanta, Texas, and then raised in Foreman, Arkansas.

According to the Country Music Hall of Fame, Lawrence “began performing at 15 and signed with Atlantic Records Nashville in 1991. He has released a total of 14 studio albums, with Alibis (1993) and Time Marches On (1996) both certified double-platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).

“Among his more than 40 songs to hit the Billboard Hot Country charts, eight went to No. 1: Sticks and Stones, Alibis, Can’t Break It to My Heart, My Second Home, If the Good Die Young, Texas Tornado, Time Marches on, and Find Out Who Your Friends Are.

“Lawrence’s musical style is defined mainly by neotraditional country and honky tonk influences, although he has also recorded country pop, Christmas music, and Christian country music. He won Top New Male Vocalist from Billboard in 1992 and from Academy of Country Music in 1993, and Vocal Event of the Year from the Country Music Association in 2007.”

The induction and concert were held at the museum and event hall at 310 W Panola St, Carthage, TX, United States, Texas The other two inductees were the Mandrell Sisters and Roy Orbison.
