L-K Jr. High Majorettes attend two camps

L-K Jr. High Majorettes spent three days at the Tops in Twirling Camp at Kilgore Junior College and three days at the Twirl-A-Jacks Camp at Stephen F. Austin State University this summer. Each student gave their views on twirling and their experience at the camps: Katelyn Duncan, 8th grader, stated “at camp we learned lots of cool tricks, including learning how to twirl Samoan knives. The reason I like being a majorette is because it’s a sport that requires endurance, flexibility, balance, and can be very hard, but with practice, it can become a beautiful rewarding sport. I would love to see more majorettes in the future.” Kylie Epps, 8th grader, said “twirling has been an amazing experience with the girls, and going to camps.  I look forward to fun times with the girls this year.” Emerson Delese, 7th grade, said she loved twirling “ because it takes a lot of discipline to mix dance and twirl together and I love the challenge.”
