Journal-Sun welcomes two new team members

The Journal-Sun has recently welcomed two new people to our team, Sierra Jones and Sydni Goza.

Jones started at the Journal-Sun recently to do some temporary light sales and customer service. She has quickly evolved into an asset for the sales department. Jones is a 21-year-old mother of two; a two-year-old little boy and a one-year-old little girl. She is a hometown girl, attending both high schools - Atlanta and Queen City - but finished early through James Madison High School. She plans to get her degree in psychology and her bachelor’s in social work.

Jones, along with being our sales rep, is also now our backup bookkeeper, obtaining her notary public in the State of Texas.

Sierra’s goals are to be a licensed therapist and be able to work in social work to make a change in our system with children. Jones’ work history includes restaurant and retail.

Sydni Goza was born in Portland, Oregon, and grew up in Las Vegas, Nevada before moving to Texas. She graduated from Atlanta High School in 2009 and went on to get a Bachelor’s degree in English at Texas A&M University in Texarkana. Goza enjoys writing creatively and has been doing so since she was old enough to hold a pencil. She hopes to write her own novel one day.

Goza, who recently worked as the first librarian for Linden, brings a natural, refined writing style to the Journal-Sun. Goza will be writing a variety of different articles in our paper from hard news to human interest stories.

Goza and Jones have already made a huge impact in their respective departments and we look forward to great things in the future.
