If the Word of God Offends?

Matthew 15:12 says - Then came his disciples, and said unto him, Knowest thou that the Pharisees were offended, after they heard this saying?

John 13:7 says - Jesus answered and said unto him, What I do thou knowest not now; but thou shalt know hereafter.

He’s not finished yet. Philippians 1:6 says - Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ which is the time of restoration.

Revelation 3:20 says - Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.

1st Samuel 3:4 says - That the LORD called Samuel: and he answered, Here am I.

Yes here I am! Will you go when men revile you and speak evil of you?

John 15:18-27 says - If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you. If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you.

Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept my saying, they will keep yours also.

But all these things will they do unto you for my name’s sake, because they know not him that sent me.

If I had not come and spoken unto them, they had not had sin: but now they have no cloke for their sin.

He that hateth me hateth my Father also.

If I had not done among them the works which none other man did, they had not had sin: but now have they both seen and hated both me and my Father.

But this cometh to pass, that the word might be fulfilled that is written in their law, They hated me without a cause.

But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me:

And ye also shall bear witness, because ye have been with me from the beginning.

The world will hate you for My sake but be of good cheer, for you are of God little ones and not of this world.

We should partake in the sufferings of Christ.

1st Peter 4:13 says - But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ’s sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy.

He crowns the humble with salvation. Delight in it. We can delight in the crown of salvation and rejoice in the honor of being in a relationship with Him.

Psalm 149:1-9 says - Praise ye the LORD. Sing unto the LORD a new song, and his praise in the congregation of saints.

Let Israel rejoice in him that made him: let the children of Zion be joyful in their King.

Let them praise his name in the dance: let them sing praises unto him with the timbrel and harp.

For the LORD taketh pleasure in his people: he will beautify the meek with salvation.

Let the saints be joyful in glory: let them sing aloud upon their beds.

Let the high praises of God be in their mouth, and a two-edged sword in their hand;

To execute vengeance upon the heathen, and punishments upon the people;

To bind their kings with chains, and their nobles with fetters of iron;

To execute upon them the judgment written: this honour have all his saints. Praise ye the LORD.

He crowns the humble. We have not earned our salvation, it is a gift! Bought and paid for by Jesus!

We have not earned the right to reign with Christ. It is a gift that He will present to the faithful.

The inheritance to reign and sit with Jesus, God’s people will execute judgement with a double-edged sword in their hands. God’s people will accompany Christ in judgement.

In His presence there is fullness of joy!

Philippians 1:10 says - That ye may approve things that are excellent; that ye may be sincere and without offence till the day of Christ;

For I want you to understand what really matters, so that you may live pure and blameless lives until the day of Christ’s return.

Ephesians 5:26-27 says - That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word,

That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle,

(These are a few scriptures of the Gospel being offensive.)

Galatians 5:11 - And I, brethren, if I yet preach circumcision, why do I yet suffer persecution? then is the offence of the cross ceased.

Matthew 10:22 - And ye shall be hated of all men for my name’s sake: but he that endureth to the end shall be saved.

John 6:53-66 - Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye have no life in you.

Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day.

For my flesh is meat indeed, and my blood is drink indeed.

He that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, dwelleth in me, and I in him.

As the living Father hath sent me, and I live by the Father: so he that eateth me, even he shall live by me.

This is that bread which came down from heaven: not as your fathers did eat manna, and are dead: he that eateth of this bread shall live for ever.

These things said he in the synagogue, as he taught in Capernaum.

Many therefore of his disciples, when they had heard this, said, This is an hard saying; who can hear it?

When Jesus knew in himself that his disciples murmured at it, he said unto them, Doth this offend you?

What and if ye shall see the Son of man ascend up where he was before?

It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.

But there are some of you that believe not. For Jesus knew from the beginning who they were that believed not, and who should betray him.

And he said, Therefore said I unto you, that no man can come unto me, except it were given unto him of my Father.

From that time many of his disciples went back, and walked no more with him.
