Huge Atlanta tent revival in works
About 30 churches local to Cass County, including Texarkana, Arkansas, Texas, Lousiana and even Oklahoma plan for a large tent revival from April 3-8 in Atlanta.
Shelby Crump, a pastor with Mission America said worship services begin at 7:00 p.m. on 310 North Buckner Street. Entry is, of course, free, he said “The plan is to sit 650 people without any hiccups or problems,” Crump said. “The big tent can sit about 520, while the small tent seats about 100. The little tent is just a smaller version of the bigger one.”
Crump and his associates said they will be carrying both tents to downtown Atlanta from his home near Queen City to kick off the revival.
Pastor Crump said he was so thankful for all the churches willing to get involved in the revival.
“We plan on this being a full, turn-key type operation,” Crump said. “If someone gets saved, we want them to get baptized and get them plugged into a church near where they live.”
The tent revival will be the first of its kind in a while in Atlanta, and Crump and other pastors were fired up to see people turn out for the Cass County revival event.
“Worship will be amazing, a lot of fun,” Crump said. “We will have an in-house, full band and all that.”
Crump said he and fellow pastors invite anyone in the community who would like to join in on the praise and worship community choir section will give him a call at 903-824-4886.
There will be guest speakers and specials as well.
Mission America, which hopes to spread the gospel through tent revivals worldwide calls Cass County home. Crump said they will tentatively head to Houston in May and Chicago in June, depending on weather and other factors.
