Highway 49 to see changes
A portion of State Highway (SH) 49 in Cass and Marion counties is scheduled for a full rehabilitation, according to plans awarded in October by the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT). “Work will include just over five miles of SH 49 from SH 155 in Cass County to the Marion County line,” said Marshall Area Engineer Jacob Vise. “From there, the project will extend from the Marion County line to Farm to Market (FM) Road 1969.”
L.S. Equipment Co., Inc. was awarded the contract with a bid of $11,029,939. Work is expected to begin in December and take about 19 months to complete.
The current work schedule and estimated completion date are subject to change due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances.
