Healthcare Express delivers Valentine’s Day cards

Every Valentine’s season, teams from Healthcare Express step away from the clinic and into the community to deliver handmade Valentine’s Day cards to residents in local nursing homes — a tradition that has become one of the organization’s most meaningful annual activities.

Healthcare Express team members create Valentine’s cards and coordinate visits with nursing homes throughout their communities, delivering messages of kindness and connection to seniors who may not receive many visitors during the holiday.

“This is truly one of our favorite Healthcare Express community traditions,” said Dr. Tim Reynolds and Pam Reynolds, owners of Healthcare Express. “It makes us incredibly proud — proud of our teams, proud of the care they show, and proud to be part of moments that can brighten the day of someone who may be feeling lonely or overlooked. Seeing the smiles and reactions from residents reminds us why we do what we do.”

Over the years, the Valentine’s visits have become a cherished team-building experience for staff, allowing them to connect with one another while giving back in a simple but powerful way. Team members often describe the visits as one of the most rewarding parts of the year.

In addition to staff-created cards, Healthcare Express is also welcoming handmade Valentine’s cards from the community. Families, individuals, schools, and daycares who would like to participate can drop off cards at any Healthcare Express Little Library. Cards placed in the clinic’s Little Library will be included in the deliveries to local nursing homes.

To make participation easy for children, parents, and teachers, Healthcare Express has created free, downloadable Valentine coloring sheets that can be printed and decorated at home or in classrooms.
