Hamilton named Buzbee scholarship recipient at QCHS

Queen City High School students Makenna Hamilton has been name the recipient of the Tony Buzbee Scholarship.

“One of the privileges I have yearly is to choose and announce the recipient of the Tony Buzbee Scholarship, which is awarded to an outstanding senior student at my alma mater, Queen City High School,” said Tony Buzbee. “This year I’m proud to announce that the $10,000 scholarship is being awarded to Makenna Hamilton.”

“The phrase ‘over achiever’ certainly applies here,” Buzbee said. “First in her graduating class, Lady Bulldog of the Year, President National Honor Society, VP Student Council, Captain of the volleyball and basketball teams. High performer on the track and powerlifting teams. Cheerleader, band member. I can’t even list all this young woman’s accomplishments! I expect her to do big things and make her family, school and community very proud!”
