General election votes are in
On Saturday, May 3, general elections were held for both the Atlanta ISD Board of Trustees and the City of Atlanta Proposition A, which would legalize the sale of all alcohol including mixed beverages.
Voter turnout for both early voting and election day voting totaled 3,156 for the Board of Trustees ballot, while the combined turnout for the Proposition A ballot totaled 436.
The results of the Atlanta ISD Board of Trustees revealed that Tyler Johnson, Arlistel Maxie, Charlotte Stanley, and Joel Steger had been elected to the board, Johnson topping out with the most votes at 894 or 28.3% of the votes.
As for results regarding Proposition A, 288 votes were in favor of the proposition, amounting to 66.1% of the total votes counted.
Results were compiled at 7:49 p.m. on the evening of the election, according to the official report.
