Friends seeking to renew interest in organization
Friends of Linden Public Library, established in 2008 with the goal of encouraging establishment of a public library in Linden, held a meeting on Thursday, September 12 to renew interest in the organization.
The meeting, led by Kay Stephens, had 19 persons in attendance. Original members and new individuals interested in learning more about the organization elected new officers.
Officers to serve a two year term are: President, Lynn Reynolds, Vice President, Luci Trahan, Secretary, Brenda Swisher, and Co-Treasures, Jeannie Stevens and Iva Rountree. The Articles of Organization will remain the same: to provide support for the services of Linden Public Library, to promote literacy, and to enhance public awareness of and support for the Library.
The organization will meet bimonthly beginning in January and when needed, the President may call special meetings.
Friends of Linden Public Library is eager to become more active in supporting Linden’s public library and hopes to increase its membership.
If you are interested in joining this group of volunteers, watch for notices of upcoming meetings.
Everyone is encouraged to visit Linden Public Library, and hopefully you will also decide to become a member of Friends of Linden Public Library.
