Finding the meaning of life

Do you ever feel like you are in a place in life where you just feel lost? You wonder what you were really put here on this earth to do, maybe wonder if there really is some greater purpose. Most struggle with meaning.

In philosophy, they call this an existential dilemma. The idea of finding the meaning of life, as it relates to you.

Some struggle their whole life, chasing after this adventure, that drug, or some relationship, only to find when they capture the prize they are still empty. Why is it, after all, do we find those who seemingly have it all take their own life?

In a world that tells you to chase YOUR dreams, achieve YOUR goals, Jesus tells us something completely different

For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me will find it. (Matt. 16:25)

Why is the Christian life seemly so backward? The truth lies in the foundation of who we are. The truth is we were created for so much more than to eat, work, and die.

We were created by God, known by Him before the foundations of the world with an eternal purpose that can only be found in an eternal God.

A God that truly knows us better than we know ourselves…a God that that loves us and sees the beginning to the end.

Knowing Him puts us in touch with an eternally loving God, that gives us those dreams that He has put in our heart and knowing Him, can reveal a new purpose for our life when we have none.

Proverbs 3:5-6 (NIV)

5. Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding;

6. in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.
