Federal grants for SWEPCO customers

The New Year is starting out warm for SWEPCO customers, but winter weather can change rapidly. That is why we want to remind customers that help is available through the federal Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) when winter weather hits.

The federal assistance is available to SWEPCO customers in Texas, Louisiana and Arkansas.

Application periods for LIHEAP support differ by state, but SWEPCO customers can get help with their winter heating bills through LIHEAP and other programs. LIHEAP eligibility is based on income; an eligibility tool is available on swepco.com.

Texas customers can apply year-round until funds are depleted.

“We are dedicated to keeping power affordable and reliable for our customers with rates below the national average,” said Brett Mattison, SWEPCO president COO. “And from LIHEAP to flexible payment plans, extensions, Pay-as-you-Go and average monthly payments, we are committed to helping families manage their energy costs during challenging times.”

SWEPCO offers customers a user-friendly tool to help them find bill assistance tailored to their individual needs. By logging into their account and answering a few simple questions at SWEPCO.com/billhelp, we can connect every customer with suitable options.

Now is the time to prepare for severe winter weather, before bad weather strikes.
