Eyes to the Sky
Sin has been in the world for thousands of years. We are seeing things go on in this world our minds wouldn’t have been able to perceive even 10 years ago.
Our carnal minds see sin on different levels. To us the act of murder is far worse than someone who steals but to God they are one in the same. To God the murderer is equal to someone who harbors ill will against his brother or someone who holds onto to unforgiveness. All sin separates us from God. No matter the sin.
Isaiah 59:1-4 - Behold, the LORD’S hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy that it cannot hear: But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear. For your hands are defiled with blood, and your fingers with iniquity; your lips have spoken lies, your tongue hath muttered perverseness. None calleth for justice, nor any pleadeth for truth: they trust in vanity, and speak lies; they conceive mischief, and bring forth iniquity.
What does the Bible say is the end result of staying in sin?
Proverbs 14:12 - There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.
Just as it is today, sin was rampant in Noah’s day. So what did God do? He flooded the Earth killing every living thing that walked upon it, save Noah, his family and the animals God commanded him to gather for a long ride on the Ark.
The people didn’t take Noah’s warnings seriously. What did they think he was going to do with that massive boat? Open a hotel? Did they take it as a fool’s errand?
They didn’t turn their eyes to the sky until it started to rain! They realized quickly their fate and had to think back on the times Noah had relayed this end from the Lord to them.
Have you ever thought about this? For mankind to go on Noah, who had found grace in the sight of the Lord, and his family had to live, but for mankind to go on in victory after death Jesus had to die!
One had to live for us to have life and One had to die for us to have life and that more abundantly!
God closed the door of the Ark so that all that was within could be saved. Likewise Jesus said I AM the Door, by Me if any man enter in, he shall be saved!
His love saved Noah from destruction and His love saved us from destruction!
The way to turn this outcome of torment to eternal peace is simple….repentance!
The Bible says “the blood of Jesus Christ cleanses us from all sin and that if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”
Proverbs 28:13 - He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy.
It’s easier to give up than fight. When the enemy brings a battle to your threshold, take a war to his!
The enemy has people blindfolded, their minds in confusion, their hearts embedded in sin, their ears clogged with lies, their mouths filled with hate, their feet to walk in rebellion, their hands to work iniquity.
But sin is defeated by Grace because of Jesus!
Romans 6:14 - For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.
Keep your eyes to the sky, Jesus is coming in clouds of glory for His children!
1 Thessalonians 4:16-17 - For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
We must make our way to that solid foundation which is Christ the Lord and keep our eyes to the sky!
Isaiah 40:26 - Lift up your eyes on high, and behold who hath created these things, that bringeth out their host by number: he calleth them all by names by the greatness of his might, for that he is strong in power; not one faileth.
God said He’d open the windows of Heaven and pour out blessings.
Look towards the hills from whence your help comes.
Look for signs and wonders in the heavens.
Look for His return!
Keep your eyes to the sky!
