ECCSRA awards scholarships

The Eastern Cass County School Retirees Association has honored many well-deserving seniors in the past who have become productive citizens for the rest of their lives. During this COVID year, we have had many challenges for our educators, students and retirees.

The Eastern Cass County School Retired Association has not been able to have our regular meetings this year. However, our organization has been able to raise money to issue seven scholarships for seniors in our area. This years’ applications were very impressive and it was sometimes difficult to determine the recipients. The decisions were based on a point system. The scholarship committee members presented the scholarship certificates. We are honored to have scholarships of $700 that were presented to each graduation senior.

The following seniors received scholarships: Austin Head, Kelby Smith, Vanessa Winders – Atlanta High School, Claire Bates, Hannah Fitts, Gracelyn Weeks – Queen City High School and McKenzie Bishop – McLeod High School.
