Divide the Baby
1 Kings 3:16-27; Two women came before King Solomon, one with a complaint against the other, concerning her baby.
It seems as though one woman had stolen the other woman’s baby son during the midnight hour as she slept, and replaced him with her own dead son. Both women lived in the same house, and both had given birth to a son three days apart.
The first woman, with her baby by her side, accidentally smothered him during the night, and seen the opportunity to switch babies with the other mother.
In the morning the second woman, waking up to nurse her son, realized the baby was dead, but also realized that he wasn’t her son.
The first woman, refused to give the baby up, claiming him for her own.
As they both stood before King Solomon, each proclaiming to be the mother, King Solomon asked for a sword, and ordered that the baby be divided, and half given to each woman.
Immediately the real mother interceded for the child! “Do not slay the child, let this other woman have him,” for her heart yearned for her son. The other woman, who had stolen him, declared; “Let it be neither yours or mine, but divide it”.
For the last several decades, the world system has risen up at the midnight hour, an hour of spiritual darkness, and ungodliness, and has caught a lot of the church world asleep, and has crept in and stolen, snared, tricked our children.
So many of our youth have turned to alcohol, drugs, fornication, gangs, witchcraft, suicide, atheism, and the list goes on and on!
Peter said in his epistle to be sober, be vigilant, because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walks about, seeking whom he may devour. 1 Peter 5:8.
When does a lion roar? Research shows that they roar when they are marking their territory, claiming their territory!
The adversary, the devil, is claiming his territory, he is seeking whom he may devour!
And has caught the church world asleep, and he is stealing our children out of the church’s bosom!
Instead of watching and praying as the Lord has commanded, the virgins all slumbered and slept, and a cry was made at midnight, behold the Bridegroom cometh.
There should be a cry of the Church being made in the dark hour of midnight!
A cry of the Saints to save the children! Protect the children! Guard the children! A cry of the parents to teach them right!
Keep them in the house of God! Pray for them and with them! Teach them the Word of God! Tell them about Jesus and his blood that was shed! Tell them of the Fathers great love for them!
Build a foundation of scripture under their feet that they can stand upon! Teach them how to pray, and study the Bible! Teach them how to have unwavering faith in Jesus!
That no matter what they go through, Jesus is the answer! Live the Christian life before them, be the example! Don’t let this world’s darkness overtake your children! Fight for them! Pray for them! Stand with them! And ground them in the Word of God and the gospel of Jesus Christ!
For there is a real adversary that seeks to devour and steal them from their mothers bosom! Don’t let the baby be divided! Keep them whole in Jesus! God bless.
