Cullen Baker Fair Committee meets
Last week, in the atmosphere that goes with that unique group known as The Cullen Baker Fair Committee, planning moved forward for the 47th version of the popular Fair to be held once again in downtown Bloomburg on Saturday, Nov. 8.
Fans can rest easy. On the fair list are some of the same forms of entertainment that have always made it fun... fried pies, at least 200 booths, The Country Store, country music, a cake walk, the car show, the parade, the Little Mr. and Miss Cullen Baker Fair, loads of shopping and plenty old-timey people greeting.
As always, the goal is to have a jampacked fun-filled day in a fast paced leisurely setting that makes folks want to return next year and all the years after that. There are some people who have been to all versions of the 47-yearold Fair and think of it as a homecoming.
However, some things have changed. In addition to having an old time meet and greet feel to it, the Fair is now modernized and computer friendly. You can register for any and all events anywhere you and your iPhone happen to be. And you can pay in some medium other than cash on the barrelhead. Enter PayPal and Venmo.
And there’s the food. Oh, the food. All food trucks registered early. They remember the patronage from past years.
Will there be anything new? Perhaps. There is talk of a picture quilt being made for the raffle. It would have Bloomburg pictures on it. Also, there will be a greater effort made to control traffic this year. Parking problems and how to solve them are still up for debate.
Listed below is a formal communication detailing the nitty-gritty facts for this year’s fair. You’ll find that the information included in this communication and both the food booth and application forms are available on the Cullen Baker Fair and Bloomburg Community Facebook pages. The committee wants to thank you for participating in the Cullen Baker Country Fair.
We look forward to hearing from you and seeing you Saturday, November 4, 2023.
