COVID-19 Update
As of Friday, Nov. 20, Bowie County Emergency Operations Center reports six new cases since Thursday, November 19, 2020 for a total of 2,491 positive COVID-19 cases, with 93 deaths. The Department of State Health Services is reporting 1,766 recoveries. There are currently 632 active cases in Bowie County.
Cass County added four new cases, for a total of 714, with 613 of those recovered, and 33 fatalities, which makes 68 active cases.
Atlanta ISD reported 17 cases between Nov. 9 and Nov. 15, which included 15 students and two staff members.
Queen City ISD added six new staff cases, Hughes Springs added three students and McLeod added three students.
The Atlanta Library will be closed until Dec. 7, due to βan abundance of concern for the safety of our patrons and staff β, Library Director Jackie Icenhower announced Sunday, Nov. 22. No fines will accumulate during the temporary closure. Books and materials can be returned via the new book drop in the alley by the ramp.
Through the end of the year, free testing will be offered Monday-Saturday 9:00 a.m. β 6:00 p.m. at Texarkana-Bowie County Family Health Center at 902 W. 12th Street, Texarkana, TX 75501.
There are no requirements for testing (residency included), oral swab with results in 48-96 hours, and pre-registration available at www.gogettested.com.
