City of Linden seeks community input
The City of Linden is encouraging its residents to fill out a survey to get feedback on their city.
In a recent press release, they asked for their residents to get involved, “the City of Linden is always looking for ways to receive public input. Public input is necessary for decision-making in city government. The most important policy decision every year a city council makes is spending priorities through the budget.
“With the Fiscal Year 2024 Budget (which runs from October 1, 2023-September 30, 2024) preparation upon us, we would like to provide an easy and convenient way for citizens to provide input on funding priorities.
“To provide this input, the City of Linden has generated a Survey Monkey online exercise for citizens. The exercise should take approximately 5 to 15 minutes. There is a list of city services, each service has to receive at least $1 of funding and everyone has $100 total to spend.
“All completed surveys will be added up by each service. The services which receive the largest totals will provide feedback to staff and council of where discretionary funds should be allocated. This assists in building a performance-based budget.
To complete the survey, you can go to the City’s website at https://www.lindentx.gov, the City’s Facebook (City of Linden, Texas) page, or pick up and return a hard copy at all City facilities.
“We greatly appreciate the time, effort, and input provided!” says Lee Elliott, City Manager.
