City Administrator UPDATE

Linden has an open Library! We reopened the Library Saturday, and thank you to all who came by! Our new Librarian is starting out with a bang, great event! Thank you to all of the Friends of the Library, who helped make this a great event. Friends of the Library is a great organization, and I would like to encourage more people to sign up and volunteer in our Library. Go by the Library and see Denise to get signed up! The Library has a web page www.lindenpubliclibrary. org and a Face Book page. Summer reading programs are starting.

There will be a coed softball tournament this Friday starting at 6pm at the old Legion Field by Music City Texas. More info can be seen at Linden’s Facebook page and on lindencity.org. If you can’t play, come by and watch and have a hot dog. The concession stand will be open as well as a couple of food trucks. Come on out and check out what is going on in Linden.

City leaders have been meeting with representatives from across the community, and we are going to have a more organized method of police interaction with our youth and young adults, thank you Larry Allen for initiating the meetings. Mayor Burns has been instrumental in moving forward with this initiative along with Christophe Trahan from our Economic Development Corporation. We don’t have as much racial tension as other places we are seeing in the news and social media, but this doesn’t mean we shouldn’t be reaching out and strengthening the bonds here in Linden. Life is good in Linden, that doesn’t mean it can’t be better. A city united can tackle anything, so let’s keep building those bonds that unite rather than emphasizing the things that divide. God has blessed us, let’s enjoy His blessings.
