Is the church really dead?

In the generation we live in, it is easy for people to think that Christianity, or the Church, is dead and gone, or on its last leg so to speak.

Some think this virus plague has killed the church during the shutdown, or that churches won’t recover from it. It is true that a lot of churches are still closed and it’s true that when a lot of them re-opened, a lot of the congregation didn’t return.

A recent article states that 50 percent of millennials no longer watch their online church service, another article states that one out of every three Christians stopped attending church service during COVID.

Still others are predicting that at least 15 percent of churches will close permanently.

In the midst of all this negative talk, let’s talk about what or Who the Church really is?

The true church is not, nor ever will be a natural building.

The Bible makes it clear who the church is. Jesus said in Matt. 16:18- That upon this rock I will build my church and the gates of hell shall not prevail. Who is this rock? Jesus Christ, who is his church? His body. And the gates of hell will not win against it.

The Church is the True Worshipers that God seeks to worship him, the Church is the Wise man that built his house upon a rock, and the rain came, the floods came, and the wind blew hard against it, but it didn’t fall.

The Church is the Temple of the Holy Ghost that walks in the fullness of the Spirit. The Church is the one who overcame the wicked one by the blood of the Lamb, and the word of their Testimony.

The Church is a Strong church that loves not the world, or the things that are in the world. The Church has the Word of God abiding within them. The Church proclaims that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh, and rejects the spirit of anti-Christ, because the Church walks in the Spirit of Truth.

The Church is Victorious and believes that Jesus is the Son of God.

All the church buildings in the world can shut down, but that won’t stop the True Church, the True Worshipers of God, because for two thousand years, the Church has been through the fire, and through the flood, and no power of hell can defeat it, because She’s been bought by the blood of Jesus Christ.

She is a purchased possession, a royal priesthood, a chosen generation, that has been called out of darkness into his marvelous light. She is strong, powerful, full of faith and the glory of God. Is the Church dead? Of course not, because the Church is you!! God bless.
