Chocolate Party set for June 15
Friends of the Atlanta Public Library will hold the annual Chocolate Party on Thursday, June 15th from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m., said President Jean Ann Estep.
The event is free to attend, Estep said and is a fun way to get the community together and show them what their public library offers.
“This is not a fundraiser, it is free to attend,” Estep said. “It’s our way of saying ‘Thank You’ to the community and just opening up the library to get everyone excited about everything Atlanta Public Library has to offer.”
She said the event is held yearly to give back to the community and everyone is welcome to attend the party, which will feature prizes, authors, and tons of chocolate.
“We offer things for the whole community,” Estep said. Last month, Friends held a membership drive and book sale to help fundraise for the library’s summer reading program.
The summer reading program is completely free, and the theme this year is Exploring Our World. The reading program, which starts in June and ends July 29th, will both begin and end with a Zoofari. To find out more about the Summer Reading program, stop by and pick up a copy of Friends of Atlanta Public Library’s newsletter in print or view the schedule online by visiting a link from the ‘Atlanta Texas Public Library’ Facebook page.
The program will feature things for the entire community both kids and adults.
