Chamber encourages Christmas Tree sponsorship
This year, the Atlanta Area Chamber of Commerce will be taking advantage of the newly redeveloped “Woods Park” and placing Christmas trees in the area of green space.
“We are looking for business partners to sponsor each of the trees and then light and decorate the trees with your own style,” said Miranda Johnson, director of Atlanta City Development Corp., and president of the Atlanta Area Chamber of Commerce. “We will post signs that display who the sponsor of each tree is.”
The Chamber is partnering with Price Hardware to purchase and place six-foot artificial Christmas trees by Nov. 24, the Saturday after Thanksgiving. All trees must be decorated by Saturday, Dec. 1, the day of the Atlanta Christmas Parade and Hometown Christmas festivities.
“At this time, we are providing plain trees, however, depending on participation, we may order some pre-lit trees for those who prefer it. There will be an extra fee if we order pre-let trees.”
The use of LED lights and non-breakable decorations are encouraged, because the trees will be exposed to the elements throughout the season, so keep that in mind when selecting the décor. The trees may be picked up and taken home or donated after the event.
“We are excited about the beauty and festivity this tree display will bring to our downtown,” added Johnson. “Please let us know ASAP if you would like to commit to sponsoring and decorating a tree.”
Woods Park is located at 210 E. Hiram Street in Atlanta, where Woods Furniture formerly stood.
