Cass County Resource Fair to highlight services available

The Cass County Cares Family Fun Day will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 11, at the Mattie Lanier Richey Center in Atlanta, Texas.

The event is sponsored by Atlanta Independent School District, State Bank and GT Church.

“I started the resource fair as a way to connect families to resources in the community that can assist them in meeting their needs,” said Stevi Stanley, AISD’s Mental Health and Wellness Coordinator for the middle school and high school. “The goal is to equip families with the tools and resources that they need to improve their quality of life, promote independent individuals and families, and develop healthy behaviors.”

Activities for the family include games, free food, door prizes, face painting and a bounce house. In addition, there will be a variety of community resources at this fair which include: – Financial assistance for things such as rent and utilities.

– Assistance with food. – Free clothing. – Veteran services. – Support for parents with disabled children.

– Assistance with mental health needs.

– Drug and alcohol treatment and prevention services.

– Health insurance providers and indigent care services.

– Free car seats to qualifying individuals. – College and career support. – Education on various community groups and safety.

“Atlanta ISD is dedicated to promoting healthy and happy families,” Stanley said, “and this is the perfect way to show that to the community.”
