Cass County fire departments receive grants

Cass County fire departments were blessed with equipment grants as the second round of Rural Volunteer Fire Department Assistance Program grants for the next fiscal year went out recently.

The Texas A&M Forest Service awarded around $17.6 million in funds to volunteer fire departments across the state.

Cass County fire departments who received those awards were: Cass County ESD 1 – $25,000 for fire and rescue equipment, Cass County ESD 2 – $25,000 for fire and rescue equipment, Cass County ESD 3 – $25,000 for fire and rescue equipment, Crossroads- Cornett Volunteer Fire Department – $25,000 for fire and rescue equipment, Douglassville Volunteer Fire Department – $25,000 for fire and rescue equipment and Linden Volunteer Fire Department – $25,000 for fire and rescue equipment.
