They serve those in this community that live in Cass County but have helped those from Bowie County Texas, Miller County Arkansas, and Caddo Parish Louisiana.
The Harvest House’s goal is to alleviate hunger by soliciting, collecting, growing, and packaging food for distribution to those in need.
Their services include a Senior Food Box Program and an Emergency Food Program to feed any families or people that need help.
Harvest House is not only self-funded, but it also relies on donations from the community and other charitable organizations to fully meet the needs of feeding the hungry.
Harvest House is an entity of Trinity Church, which is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization.
According to Cass County Census, 17.7 percent of residents in this county alone are living in poverty. That’s roughly 5,050 people and the numbers are expected to rise over the next few years.
