Calling all readers to the gathering of authors
This year’s event, the 10th Annual Gathering of Authors Charity Event & Book Signing will be held Saturday Dec. 7th from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Circle J Cowboy Church in Texarkana, Arkansas. Formerly, we have held this event at the Arkansas Convention Center, but wanted to go back to our roots and make it a “Country Christmas Gathering of Authors.”
All proceeds are donated to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and Arkansas Children’s Hospital, where our motto “Finding a Cure Through Literacy,” came from.
This year, 26 authors will be in to meet new readers, autograph books and enjoy in the fun of literacy and raising money for kids who need treatment. Many families in our area are touched by one or the other, some, both of these hospitals. They make a difference in the lives of those families and we want to make a difference by giving to those places who strive to find cures for childhood diseases. So, through the written word, christian books, children’s books, westerns, young adult and more, we are banding together to do all we can to raise more than we ever have for these two places who focus on nothing but making sure our children and your children, survive.
Among, the 26 authors attending this year, is John T. Wayne, John Wayne’s grandson. He is a western Author and there will be no doubt when you see him that he is related. Also, attending this year, is Historical Fiction author, Patty Wiseman. Patty has authored Historical book Series as well as one children’s book she’s extremely proud of. The other authors attending are as follows: Anne Redelfs, Caleb Gammons, Karen Gammons, Charity Kountz, Charlotte Maxwell, Cleopatra Kaine, David N. Walker, Deborah Chelette -Wilson, Edward Hancock II, Frankie Capers, Guy Morgan, Jeri Lynn Stone, Jordan High, Kimberly Thompson, K.L.
