Burn ban lifted

High winds earlier in the month of March caused officials to enforce burn bans across the state. Cass County was one of those as County Judge Travis Ransom signed off on the measure.

The burn ban was enforced on Mar. 20 and was set for seven days. Rainfall and decreased breeze helped some as the ban was lifted on Mar. 27 but caution was still advised.

The lift was solid for unincorporated areas but Ransom added people who live within city limits of their town to check with their city officials as some cities may have left the ban in place a few days after.
