Boyce wins Region 8 Middle School Principal of the Year

On May 13, Colby Boyce from Atlanta ISD Middle School was chosen as the Region 8 Middle School Principal of the Year for being an outstanding school leader.

In a letter congratulating Boyce, Kristi Callihan, Reg8 Coordinator said, “We want to thank you for your hard work and dedication to your students, faculty, and parents of Atlanta Middle School… We are proud of you and your accomplishments.”

Because Boyce received Region POY recognition, he will now be “eligible to apply for state/national recognition if he is interested.

In his Bio, it is noted that “Mr. Boyce began his journey as a student of Atlanta and in 2002 graduated from Queen City High School. He then attended the University of Arkansas at Monticello where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Physical Education and a minor in History. During his early teaching career, He earned a master’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from Texas A&M at Texarkana.

“After several years of teaching, He went back and earned a second Master’s degree in Education Administration. He is finishing his 15th year in education where he coached for six years, served as an Assistant Principal at Texas Middle School for five years, and is currently the middle school principal at Atlanta Middle School for the past four years. He is married to Lamisha Boyce (13 years) who is an elementary school counselor at Liberty-Eylau and a son Colby Boyce Jr (CJ) who is 4years old.”
