Bloomburg students earn certificates

Bloomburg ISD would like to congratulate Mrs. Snelgroves’ Health Practicum- PCT classes on receiving their certifications. Listed below are the students who took the Basic Life Support and/or PCT/A test, obtaining their certification. BLS is the CPR certification that most healthcare fields require to work (HeartSaver is not accepted). They learn Adult and Child CPR with AED use. They also learn 1 and 2-person CPR along with a bag-mask-valve. In addition to skills check-off, they are required to pass a written test to get this certification.

Mallory S., Cassie G., Abigail I., Eli B., Jacee G., Lillian H., Kaleigh G., and Whitney Ashlyn C. all received their Basic Life support certification.

C-PCT/A can work as a Patient Care Tech in the healthcare field. This position is similar to a CNA. They also learn EKG and Phlebotomy content. They must pass a written test on a weighted scale of 200-500, passing with a minimum of 390.

They are tested over Patient Care, Compliance Safety and Professional Responsibility, Infection Control, Phlebotomy, and EKG.

Eli B., Abigail I., Jacee G., and Kaleigh G. all received their PCT/A (Patient Care Tech/ Assistant) Certification. This is a provisional certification, pending their high school diploma. They will receive their official certification after earning their diploma.
