Bloomburg rocked the House System
Four houses, one family.
Bloomburg adopted the Ron Clark Academy House System a few years back and it is paying dividends.
Bloomburg Elementary hosted its House Sorting 2025 recently and it was another huge success for all involved.
Students and staff alike had a blast. The House System is a dynamic, exciting and proven way to create a positive climate and culture for students and staff.
By using the RCA method schools can confidently implement processes that build character, relationships and school spirit.
There are originally eight houses - Amistad, Altruismo, Isibindi, Rêveur, Nukumori, Onraka, Protos, and Sollevare which each represent a unique core value that shapes student character and school culture.
At Bloomburg they only incorporated four houses Amistad, Altruismo, Isibindi and Rêveur.
Every student and staff member is sorted into a House, creating a sense of belonging, pride and family.
These Houses promote values such as friendship, bravery, giving, dreams, success, kindness, unity, and uplift. Through healthy competition, students earn points for demonstrating excellence in academics, behavior and leadership.
This system encourages positive behavior, builds confidence and motivates students to support one another.
Each House has its own unique characteristics: namesake, crest, colors, Scripture, and symbols. Each House is led by faculty members and student leaders. The Houses compete for points in a wide variety of categories throughout the school year, including academics, sports, community service and attendance.
The house leader of the Altruismo is Mrs. Bell and the student leader is Bryley Hampton. The house leader of Rêveur is Mrs. Owens and the student leader is Kasidee Jones. The house leader of Amistad is Mrs. Easley and the student leader is Hesston Douglass and the house leader of Isibindi is Mrs. Josser and the student leader is Harper Pond.
