Bloomburg’s hall council room is a model of tasteful efficiency. Its grey walls, business-like chairs, elegant lighting and art on the walls can be appreciated by all citizens.This view is welcomed, too, for speaking, hearing and decision making.

u One of the best parts of Bloomburg’s town hall is that it is just a passage-way away from the community center. The passage is a working area as well and doors can be closed. But they will almost always be open.
Health Occupations Students of America visited Linden-Kildare Junior High and taught the ACE students life saving “Stop the Bleed” procedures. These high school ladies are very knowledgeable, professional, and informative.

Bloomburg appreciates its new city hall
Bloomburg’s new city hall has a personality. It’s open. Coolly efficient. A nice place to come to.
Bloomburg’s old city hall was rather miserable. It stank and leaked on occasion. One sort of expected as little from a country town.
The town’s council struggled to come up with a solution. The result was a plan to sell the former Methodist church building in town which had been used as community center. And then it would also sell the old city hall. The council struggled to get bids.
One evening someone made the suggestion to purchase the vacant building which had been home to a community grocery store among other things. The building was right in the middle of town and middle of a large parking lot.
“We bit the bullet. Sold the two facilities and borrowed the money we needed and began work on city hall and community center. It was an ordeal,” said the busy mayor Delores Simmons.
“Now we want everyone to come and join in with our city hall and community center. We want our citizens to enjoy being here as a town.”
The city hall is composed of simplicity. A few chairs, large council room meeting table, close by offices for town officials and art on the walls. It’s a no non-sense facility, something that a professional architect or engineer might make for himself or herself.
Take a look the at photos taken on the evening not long ago when Santa Clause came to the community center, gave his blessings on the buildings, and said, “Ho, Ho, Ho … Way to go Bloomburg!“ as he flew away.
Bloomburg mayor Delores Simmons’ office in the new town hall is just one door away from any town citizen. With her name on the door, the feeling is one of agreement and working together.
