Auditor Wells retiring

Tammy Wells is retiring after 39 years serving Cass County. Her time in in the county started in June 2007 as Auditor. For Wells, she “hoped and planned to be the Auditor.” And now, it was her choice again to leave says Wells, “It was my decision to retire. I love my job as auditor, but am looking forward to some new adventures!?”

Wells says that the most fulfilling part of her job working with “many great people and commissioners.” Retiring, she plans on spending time on some of her other loves which include “Working at First Baptist Church Linden as Music Director and Financial Secretary,” says Wells.

Some of her favorite memories include her “involvement in the planning and completion of the restoration of the Historical Courthouse.”

Wells appreciates the opportunity to serve the community in her time working with the community. “It’s been a pleasure to work 39 years at Cass County and it will hold a special place in my heart. I will miss all my co-workers and friends.”

Since the Auditor is appointed by the District Judge (currently Bill Miller) he will find someone to replace Wells. Miller has placed ads in the local papers in hopes of filling the position by February. Jim Loomis (currently the first assistant auditor) will be the Interim Auditor for the month of January.
