Atlanta woman,64,still missing

A local woman who went missing more than three weeks ago after walking away from her home on Sept 18 has still not been seen, according to Cass County Sheriff Larry Rowe.

Rowe said CCSO and Texas Parks and Wildlife Game Wardens were searching for Kathleen Spanel, 64 after she walked away from her home near State Highway 77 in Atlanta.

Spanel was last seen on Sept 18 wearing a purple shirt, blue jeans and tennis shoes. She is 5’6 inches tall, weighs about 130 lbs, and has blue eyes and gray/white hair.

Law enforcement stated Spanel is not violent but does suffer from hallucinations.

A silver alert was initially put into effect by the Texas Department of Public Safety. “If anyone sees a person matching this description in the area, please contact 911,” Rowe said.
