Atlanta seventh grade remains undefeated

Rabbits’ seventh grade hoops wins big on the road

The Rabbits’ seventh grade A team ran its record to 5-0, defeating Hooks 41-19. Jaylen Henderson single handedly outscored the Hornets, leading all scorers for the night, netting 21 points.

Coaches praised the effort of Hayes Highland who led both teams in assists and also scored six points.

The Rabbits’ seventh grade B team also remained unbeaten by beating the Hornets 24-8. Colt Engle and Braylon Cook led the Rabbs with five points each.

Atlanta’s 8B team dropped their first game of the year by a 26-34 decision. AJ Falls scored 12 for the Rabbs.

The 8A contest also went to the Hornets, 42-19. Kam Williams led the Rabbs with seven points.

The district game of the week featured Atlanta and New Boston, who both came into last Thursday night’s contest undefeated.

An intense first half ended with the Rabbs in the lead 18-14. The second half was a different story, with Deondre Simmons scoring nine of his eleven points as the Rabbs (6-0) pulled away with a 41-22 victory. Hayes Highland led all scorers with twelve, while Jaylen Henderson added ten.

The effort was there, but the buckets weren’t as Atlanta fell just short in the eighth grade A game, 29-26. Dailen Collins scored nine for the Rabbs.

New Boston was also victorious in the B games, winning 7B 14-11 and 8B 19-9. Colt Engle scored nine for the Rabbs 7B while Kenzie Wiggins scored four for 8B.
