Atlanta ISD Staff Development Day

While students enjoyed their last day off for the Christmas holidays on Monday, January 4, 2021, teachers and staff returned to campus for a day of training to equip themselves to be the best they can be for the students of Atlanta ISD.

Throughout the district, the staff was meeting, brainstorming, listening, sharing, about how to better educate our students.

First year teachers to Atlanta ISD had a day full of discipline, classroom management, the Fundamental 5 Formula, student data and student engagement.

To end the day, they met with their individual mentor teacher to reflect on their first semester goals and to identify their strengths and areas to focus on for a successful second semester. Staff at Atlanta Primary School and Atlanta Elementary School spent the day diving into the Fundamental 5 Formula and studying the book The Energy Bus to assist in developing their future visions. Atlanta Middle School taff took part in various trainings including Google, Building Flexible Thinking through Data and Making Minutes Matter. Atlanta High School staff worked on their vision for the Spring Semester while studying the book The Energy Bus.

They also spent time reviewing student data to plan for the spring semester. Trainings on the Fundamental 5 Formula and Google were also attended.

Students returned to campus on Tuesday, January 5, 2021 to begin the spring semester.
