Atlanta ISD hosys Career Day 2024

Atlanta School Districts “Bringin it back home” career and job fair Tuesday, Sept. 28, succeeded with as many as 700 students and 70 employers participating.

Students from all Cass County Schools were bused to the Family Life Center of First Baptist Church in Atlanta for an 8 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. chance to see what the county has to offer them in the way of careers, education paths and job opportunities.

A standout of the experience was seeing in person employers who were prepared and eager to talk about their work lives. The atmosphere was welcoming, polished and professional. Students were very likely to be impressed with each of the employers.

For the success of career and job fair, Atlanta school officials gave credit to each of the other schools in Cass County for supporting and assisting this career and job fair.

Each of the educators at the fair gave credit to Stacy Anthony, college, career and military readiness coordinator at Atlanta High School, for her leadership in organizing and leading the fair.

“Stacy was 100 percent involved as the spearhead of this event. Were just trying to keep up with her,” said one fair leader.

“Next year we’ll do a focus on colleges, especially relating to 11th and 12th graders.,” Anthony said.

In assessing local students and opportunities, Chrissie Allen, career and technical education director at AHS, said, “Our students have the resources. As a whole, we in Cass County have everything we need here. We can do a lot if we all come together. Our students have potential to do great things as long as we give them the resources. We want them to realize what our community has to offer.”

A thorough look at the accompanying photographs will attest to the high quality of Cass County Careers (CCC) as represented by its Job and Career Fair this year.
