Atlanta Dairy Queen transforms
When you think of Dairy Queen, you normally think of everyone’s favorite, the Blizzard. However, the fastfood chain offers so much more than just frozen treats. Their mission is to “create positive memories for all who touch DQ.”
While Dairy Queen didn’t get its start in the south, those who know and love the fast food restaurant typically identify it with southern hospitality. For any restaurant to succeed, there are several key things that are important; a friendly staff, good food and always being stocked with everything on the menu.
Dairy Queens across the world are known for hitting these points out of the park. That is why several years ago, when complaints started showing up online about the Dairy Queen in Atlanta, it came as a bit of a shock.
Then one day, a positive review showed up and then more positive reviews began pouring in along with the customers. It seemed there had been a change, and it was for the good. The previous owner had moved away and was unable to oversee the day to day operations and so sold the Dairy Queen to Chris Rains and Jeff Pennington in August of 2018.
They now own nine of the chain in the area, including the one in Linden, Hooks and Texarkana. Both Rains and Pennington have extensive experience in the restaurant industry and thus were fully prepared to turn the location around.
With the support of their General Manager Sue Barnett and a dedicated staff, they have built up a reputation of friendly service, along with great food and sweet treats.
Barnett says her staff is so attentive that they know their regular customers and their orders when they walk in.
Now, they have even more exciting changes coming. Currently, Rains and Pennington are having the interior renovated. With new seating and lighting installed along with freshly painted walls, the location already feels brand new. They are currently waiting for decorations to come in to complete the transformation.
In three to four weeks they plan to begin work on remodeling the outside of the building to complete the transformation.
Inside, Sue says that it is still so much more than just a fresh coat of paint. She says without the support of her wonderful staff, none of it would be possible.
Indeed, it is their hard work, commitment to amazing customer service and drive for success that is the foundation of this wonderful transformation.
