Around Atlanta
Do you like to go around and look in the windows of downtown stores? It’s a pleasant hobby.
Someone works hard to put up artistic messages for the eye to see. And they do this more often than the casual observer might think. Weekly, perhaps.
One finds flyers with community information about upcoming happenings. Someone is trying to get the message out. They ask the merchant, “Can you paste this up in your window for me?”
A visit to the downtown can reward the community minded person who stops to read and appreciate the art. Perhaps they will let someone else know what has been learned.
“Did you know this (school, church, organization) is having this event?”
“This local person is surely a good artist and with creative ideas.”
“That’s a wise saying. I’ll put it on my wall at home and read it daily.”
“Maybe I’ll go.” Sometime, if you’ll just take a moment, walk around downtown Atlanta even at night and see how many shops have decorated their windows. See how well they’ve done. Downtown merchants hold themselves to a high standard. They’re trying to impress you. Show appreciation by observing.
Surrounding this article are six windows and displays noticed last week.
